Our dog friendly Gypsy Carriage is situated at the heart of the tranquil Rum Bridge lake and glamping complex, just outside the historic market town of Clare.

Adjacent to Hazels (our dog friendly double pod) Gypsy Carriage “Rose” sleeps 2-3 plus up to two small well-behaved dogs, with Hazels (and other nearby bell tents and glamping pods) accommodating larger family groups if required.

Conveniently sited close to communal toilets, showers and a small ‘field kitchen’, Gypsy Rose benefits from outdoor seating and firepit area, and is equipped with a metered electrical supply, featuring USB sockets, heater and lighting.

The right choice for anglers, birders, walkers… in fact, anyone seeking a re-energising short-break in splendid offgrid isolation… Rose is conveniently located close to the three lakes, flush toilets, shower, and a washing up / food preparation area (with hot and cold water).

Onsite, Carol’s Kitchen offers hot and cold snacks and meals throughout the day.

Rum Bridge itself is situated in the historic market town of Clare, Suffolk, within easy driving distance of Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, and the Suffolk coast.

The town itself is home to a wealth of shops, cafes, pubs and eateries, as well as a 13th century Augustinian Priory, Clare Country Park, the stone keep ruins of Clare Castle, a medieval church and museum.

Although, for security reasons, the gates are locked at dusk, guests are provided with the gate lock combination, enabling you to come and go as you please.

To make Rum Bridge as affordable as possible, we allow guests to book our accommodation only, and to supply their own bedding, towels, etc. We also offer an optional bedding package – including sheets, pillows, a duvet and cover – on request; together with the following options and extras, all of which are designed to make your break as relaxing and enjoyable as possible…

**Firepit package**

Guests who prefer to dine al fresco may wish to rent a fire pit which also comes with a grill for BBQing, which can be supplied with either logs and kindling or charcoal, tongs, skewers, matches, firelighters and even a bag of marshmallows.

Day Fishing Tickets may be purchased on arrival, subject to availability. * Please note pets are not permitted lakeside.
