The Moorhouse Bothy
Please note that Moorhouse Bothy is dog free.
The locally made stunning Moorhouse Bothy hut, 21 feet long x 9 feet wide, contains a separate bedroom area with permanent double bed & storage, fully upholstered corner seating area, kitchen area (ceramic electric hob, microwave, fridge and small Belfast sink), bathroom (shower, toilet, sink, electric towel rail).
The separate seating area is perfect for comfy reading, playing board games, listening to music or gazing out across the fields.
Inside the bothy there is an electric radiator, heated towel rail and Hobbit wood burning stove with a supply of wood for you to light. We also provide blankets, robes and a hot water bottle so you will be cosy and warm on rainy days and cold evenings.
Outside there is a wood fired Hikki bath tub & outdoor cooking/bbq/fire pit with seating area tucked away for your exclusive use as well as a decked area with table and chairs - the perfect way to relax with a drink of your choice and enjoy the views whatever the weather. You can be assured you will have all the privacy you need.
All your essentials such as towels, robes, slippers, hairdryer, shaving point, USB ports, crockery, glasses and utensils are provided - there is a full list in our Guest Digital Welcome Book which you will receive with your booking confirmation email.
Also provided are WIFI, board games, binoculars, books, walking map, smart speaker, torch, outdoor storage for muddy boots.
Our price includes a Welcome Hamper filled with Yorkshire goodies, locally sourced breakfast ingredients for your first morning as well as a starter pack of logs for the wood burner and wood fired outdoor bath tub.
We have space for parking a short walk away from the hut and provide wheelbarrows for you to transfer luggage from your vehicle to the hut.
Please note that there is limited storage space in the bothy.
We want your stay with us to be memorable for all the right reasons and have carefully thought about the personal touches that we provide for our guests, we hope you will enjoy them.
Sited on the historic Nidd Valley Railway line overlooking fields and the River Nidd and backing on to our private woodland creating a quiet and peaceful setting whilst being a stones throw away from country walks, a 5 minute walk from The Station Hotel (our village pub serving great food), a 5 minute drive/ 15 minute walk through the village to The Dale Stores (our award winning village shop, fully stocked with everything you need) or a 20 minute drive into the Victorian spa town of Harrogate your stay can be as tranquil and peaceful or as active as you would like - whatever best helps you to reconnect and recharge.
You are welcome to bring your mountain bike(s) to explore the local area. Or, if fishing is your thing we have fishing rights to an approx 1 mile stretch of the River Nidd running along our land which you are welcome to use free of charge (you will need to bring all your own tackle etc).

The Moorhouse Bothy, our third hut, is named after Samuel & Martha Moorhouse who commissioned the build of Nidd House Farm in 1795 - the railway line and woodlands are part of Nidd House Farms grounds, you can see the property as you arrive at Haystacks Country Retreats.
