Woodpecker is the furthest of our 3 cabins and ideal for more nervous paws at the far end of the meadow 💗🐾 with new all round picket fencing 1.2m - 1.5m high for 2026, (previously 1m stock & rail) A wood fired hot tub is also now available as an optional extra.

** - if you have more than 2 sets of paws, just get in touch first. The booking system unhelpfully stipulates 2 dogs max but we are always happy to discuss. If we think you will be comfortable, we will most likely say yes to extra paws. Woodpecker is the firm favourite for more nervous or reactive paws as it is the furthest of the 3 cabins and resides at the far end of the meadow.

RRR is a small and secluded adult only, super dog friendly retreat with just 3 cosy glamping cabins to keep footfall low and peace and tranquillity the priority. Nestled in the undulating hills of Rutland, Rutland Rural Retreats is set off the beaten track, within 4 acres of beautiful old meadow land, bordered by an array of hedgerows, trees and brooks.

These cosy Rural Retreats each sleep 2 adults and have been designed with comfort in mind; for adults and paws to escape from everyday life, enjoy the tranquillity, beauty and nature that surrounds us and in safe and secure enclosed spaces. All 3 cabins have their own secure garden areas and set far apart, away from triggers and distractions. No lines of cabins here! If you are looking for that special dog friendly getaway, far from the madding crowd, this is the place for you.

Situated approx. 4miles from the historic market town of Uppingham and just a short drive from the famous Rutland Water nature reserve, Rutland Rural Retreats is set on the edge of the beautiful village of Belton In Rutland. Access is gained through the main wooden gates where you will follow the signs to the private car park. From there luggage trolleys are provided for you to transport your belongings the short distance from the car park, along the winding limestone track and over the wooden footbridge into the meadow beyond.

Stylish and well equipped, Woodpecker is furnished with double bed, luxury leather sofa (note this is not a sofa bed,) kitchenette with combination oven/microwave, two ring hob and fridge with small freezer compartment; moveable rustic dining table and drawers, en-suite with shower, sink, flushing toilet and heated towel rail and underfloor heating! The outside area is equally well thought out with a large wrap around enclosed garden; outdoor table & chairs, sun loungers and meadow views. A fire pit with BBQ arm is provided and available for use with our fire pit bundle extras or you can bring your own charcoal.

To get you all started, a small welcome hamper is left for you and your paws. All that you need to rest, relax and re-energise from the moment you arrive!

Perfectly situated to enjoy the early evening sun and a firm favourite for paws that are more nervous or reactive to people & other paws as this is the furthest cabin of the three. Please note it is adjacent to a neighbouring farmers field & you may see /hear farm vehicles from time to time through the trees 💗🐾🐾
