Thank you so much for a perfect stay. We loved the place as soon as we arrived but it was the stay that kept on giving. The welcome hamper of eggs, bread, juice and milk was such a nice touch - not to mention the dog hamper too! Toilets and showers were super clean and warm with good hot showers. We made use of the fire pit one evening which was just perfect. Enough wood supplied by Smithyfields (another great little touch) and we had a great night chatting around a warm fire. We were lucky enough to have sun on both mornings and nothing can beat waking up and seeing the sun rise over the fields. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back.

This was our 4th time to smithyfields campsite .We have camped twice and then the last 2 times stayed in Bertie’s shepherd hut. We would go back again .It’s such a lovely clean, quiet site with amazing facilities.The shepherds hut is nicely done and warm and cosy with beautiful views. Our stay was made complete with a super meal at the George pub which is about 5 minutes walk . There are also some really great walks from Alstonefield so you never have to get in a car .
