The Ranch House
The Ranch House was an old cow barn that we painstakingly designed and rebuilt over a twelve month period. As with all of our accommodation; we have tried to make it a bit different. The outside is the original 18inch thick solid stone walls built in 1642. The inside is made almost entirely of wood. At its heart is a huge hand built six poster bed, made from local sycamore, sustainable gathered from a forest that you can see from the Farm. There are two further raised single beds built into the wall behind the main bed. These are like the old fashioned ships bunks, almost like little dens. Kids (and adults) love them! Underneath these is a space where you could set up a couple of camp beds or just use it as useful storage. There are two log burners in the Ranch House. One is a large log-burning Range cooker with a full size oven and three hot plates. This is a joy to cook with. Its what we use in the house.
