Small and secluded couples retreat, nestled in the undulating hills of Rutland, Rutland Rural Retreats is set off the beaten track, within 4 acres of beautiful old meadow land, bordered by an array of hedgerows, trees and brooks. Our Rural Retreats have been designed with comfort in mind; for couples to escape from everyday life, enjoy the tranquillity, beauty and nature that surrounds us and relax. Shepherds Rest has its own secure garden areas for piece of mind when bringing canine companions. If you are looking for that special getaway, far from the madding crowd, this is the place for you.

Situated approx. 4miles from the historic market town of Uppingham and just a short drive from the famous Rutland Water nature reserve, Rutland Rural Retreats is set on the edge of the beautiful village of Belton In Rutland. Access is gained through the main wooden gates where you will follow the signs to the private car park. From there luggage trolleys are provided for you to transport your belongings the short distance from the car park, along the winding limestone track and over the wooden footbridge into the meadow beyond.

Stylish and well equipped, Shepherds Rest is furnished with a King size bed, side table, luxury leather sofa, hand made kitchenette with belfast sink, oak work top, breakfast bar, oven, two ring hob and fridge with small freezer compartment,, en-suite with shower, sink, flushing toilet and heated towel rail and underfloor heating! The outside area is equally well thought out with enclosed garden, picnic table and seating, sun loungers and meadow views. A fire pit with BBQ arm and paella pan is also provided.

For the ultimate glamping experience there is also an eco friendly wood fired hot tub for those wanting to while away those lazy summer afternoons with a glass or two of something bubbly at your side. 2 bags of logs together with kindling and firelighters are included in this package for use with the fire pit and/or hot tub. More can be purchased separately as required. See extras section for details. Please note guests are responsible for filling and heating the hot tub which takes approx 1.5 hours to heat up. This is all part of the experience.
